Fun, Forest, Flowers & Fall

Sometimes Fun Fun Park is empty of children and playful sounds ...

and sometimes ...

it's not.

Summer was slow to come to Ocean Park, BC. But as the face on this drawing shows, little ones have enjoyed the playground, especially in July and August.

According to the chalk art, one group would soon say farewell to summer fun.

Bordering the swings and seesaw is a forest where people love to wander.

I came across a fallen tree by the path as well as one that was cut down.

I expected a home for squirrels in the bowl of this tree trunk but instead found a fire hazard of trash.

I saw uncut bouquets of flowers in neighboring yards by the park.

They brought color and flair to local gardens.

Some were faintly fragrant ...

and others fiery and flamboyant.

Amid the foliage, I discovered fall shades grinning at me from a fence, reminding me that soon it would be autumn.

This post showcases the letter "F". Visit ABC Wednesday to see how others showcase letters from A to Z.

  1. That looks like a fun park. I enjoyed all the shots. It's a shame about the trash. Stuff like that irritates me. Sometimes I pick up trash when I'm going on walks but it's an endless process.

  2. Ah yes fall is starting to creep into the mornings and the evenings. Your pictures of flowers are beautiful and as you point out there are still quite a variety to delight the senses.

  9. It does look like a fun fun park indeed. BUT someone is decorating for fall already! Summer arrived so late so why would anyone want fall to arrive early? Just asking. :))

  11. Fun fun park, what a nice name. Gave me a turn to see the Halloween pumpkin though! I suppose that was left over from last year?
This is a really well chosen selection of shots. I like the way you can give a rounded picture of what a place is like, with just a few pictures.

  13. We've had frost on a couple of mornings here, but not hard enough to kill the flowers and vegetables as yet. What a light frost does do, though, is deepen the colours of the flowers and they produce like crazy, almost as if they know they have only a little time left.

This is truly a fun park, especially with the forest nearby. Thanks for the fotos! xx

  14. Fun Fun Park looks worthy of that name. I feel happy when I hear children’s shouts on the streets or in the park. Your photos show the season is gradually changing... there’s something lonely at the end of summer.... and then by the appearance of various colorful flowers, my feeling has restored to the positive, expectation for fall. This Fun, Forest, Flowers & Fall post is Fascinating, Penelope.
