I BREEZED BY my favorite spot in Ocean Park called Kwomais Point Park in Surrey, BC, last week. A thin strip of rolling clouds in the distance looked like a snowy mountain range. The clouds in the forefront hung perfectly still.
I rested a bit expecting the lovely sky scene to change. Normally, puffs of white and blue-gray on the horizon are constantly reshaping.
I waited ...
and waited a bit longer for the scene to become animated.
Although the stillness would soon blow over, I was the first to move on.

I could sit there all day. The clouds against the blue sky and blue water are stunning. Whenever I wait for the wind to blow in a new scene it doesn't happen until I leave. Sort of like the watched pot not boiling.
ReplyDeleteYour blue stretches forever. Looks very restful at your bench viewpoint.
ReplyDeleteLet's take a picnic to that bench when I'm out at the end of the month!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful blue sky with wonderful white clouds. I can hardly wait.

WOW! I love these crisp photos and how blue the sky is!
ReplyDeleteIsn;t it wonderful to sit and watch those clouds. Great shots
ReplyDeleteA beautiful sequence of shots. I would have been tempted to sit there for hours!
ReplyDeleteThese are delightful shots with the contrast of white against that stunning blue! I too would have been waiting for the clouds to change as they so frequently do in our part of the world!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, my friend...:)

so lovely! the first shot is my favorite...such a perfect composition!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I would like to hang around there like the clouds.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cloud filled sky--Lovely scenes. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is my favourite! It can be so soothing to watch the clouds and the water!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I know why you'd like to return there. The color of the sea and the skies are deep and brilliant, and yes, clouds look snow capped mountain ranges. In a set of photos, I can feel wind affecting clouds formation and the changing color of the sea. I remember the time when you introduced the bench as a new one. You must have gotten used to it. Have a nice weekend, Penelope.
ReplyDeleteOn a 4 hour drive to our sons home a couple of weeks ago I was entertained by constantly changing puffy clouds and had so much fun looking for "animals" and shapes to take place. I have a grandson who actually has the patience to lay on his back with me and cloud watch. He is an imaginary child and it is so fun to try and see his animals through his eyes....
ReplyDeleteI can't thank you enough for showing me that gem.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, and understandably the people that live across from it were rather annoyed that we "stopped for a moment" and got out of our car to take another look.
Beautiful, and I am so glad that I got to share your favorite place.

Beautiful place with a wonderful view! Everything is so lovely green and blue.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect spot on a perfect still day to overlook Boundary Bay. I'll be there in spirit when you and Kay picnic here. :-)
ReplyDelete"Although the stillness would soon blow over, I was the first to move on." What a fantastic line with some beautiful pictures. It looks nice where you live.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so beautiful. I hope to get to BC soon!
