THE SNOW DOESN'T LOOK deep or treacherous in this picture but it was very slippery causing the traffic to jam this morning. We gave up trying to drive to Vancouver from South Surrey.
This early falling of flakes in BC could foreshadow much more winter white to come. It appears the snow many had hoped to see during the Winter Olympics of 2010 will materialize and their wishes come true in 2011!

Funny, isn't it, how wishes can be granted but not necessarily in our time frame?
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't try to drive into the city. Too scary. I used to have to drive when I was working odd hours in Vancouver and later in Coquitlam and I hated it. I think today's transit system might (not sure) make it easier to commute that way.

Beautiful snow--a dangerous beauty, as you say. Thanks for sharing these great pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt was sure a deep freeze for a few days...it was -30 on my deck for longer than I care for! But we're back to warmer temps now...it was -10C this morning, heh. And it is still snowing...really hard, at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't drive...there are too many drivers on the road who don't know how to drive in inclement conditions. Makes for scary conditions for sure!!
