The Sky's The Limit ... Take Off & Fly!

A RUSHING breeze ruffles through the sky.

And here am I, buoyant and ready to go ...

not knowing how to lift off the load and fly!

Sometimes we weigh ourselves down with disbelief in our potential. The grounded board and kite I encountered this week at Crescent Beach amid seagull calls remind me of words by Richard Bach who wrote Jonathan Livingston Seagull. He said: “Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way to fly.”

  6. I "met" Jonathan Livingston Seagull as an adult, but just as your wisely wonderful blog so often does, he inspired me not only to dream bigger myself, but to recognize and appreciate the potential all around me. You show beautiful skies and motion here, Penelope, and you also provide your readers with a precious reminder to take the fun of dreaming seriously.

  12. The book was very popular and caused a social phenomenon in Japan. Thanks a lot for quoting great words. It is so true. I am apt to believe what I see, but this will spoil my inner potential power.

I enjoyed a wonderful summer in Crescent Beach with you!!
